Fresh fruit is great by itself, but if you want a delicious desert on the grill or in pan then you can follow these steps for grilling fruit. First buy fresh ripe fruit it is the best. Second if you dont have a grill grate you can just grill them straight on the grill, or if you don't want to use your grill them put the fruit in a pan over the stove with some cooking oil. For grilling start up your grill, then scrape off any old remains of food, then lower the burners to medium heat. You can use the hand over flame test or a surface thermometer to test the grill to see if its hot enough.You have to oil the grill with olive oil or non stick cooking oil. If you have a grill grate even better you can oil the grill grate and place the fruit on top of it. If they get stuck to grill just use a spatula. It will only take a few minutes on the grill for the fruit to be cooked. Watch over them carefully so that they don't become overcooked. Harder fruit takes longer to cook then soft fruit. Usually about two minutes on each side over medium heat will work for soft fruit. Hard fruit should takes around  four minutes on each side over medium heat.  Let cool to warm temperatures then eat.



Fruit like apples and pears can be halved, brushed lightly with cooking oil and placed on the grill. Fruit like bananas can be halved lengthwise brushed lightly with cooking oil and then placed on grill. Berries and small fruit can be placed in a dish made out of foil or
on a grilling grate and set on a grill. Other fruit like kiwis, strawberries, apricots, peaches and plums can be soaked in water, brushed lightly with cooking oil, placed on water soaked skewers then placed on a medium heat grill. Use sugar substitutes for recipes that call for sugar.

Grilled fruit can become part of your well balanced diet.
