Spicy Turkey Burgers

 
1 pound lean ground turkey
  1 tablespoon of hot pepper sauce
  1/2 teaspoon salt
  1/4 cup of yogurt or milk substitute
  1 teaspoon of onion powder
  1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  4 rolls
  4 lettuce leaves
  4 tomato slices
  5-6 whole wheat hamburger buns


  In a large bowl, combine the onion powder,hot pepper sauce, salt, milk or yogurt and garlic. Crumble turkey over mixture; mix well. Gently shape into four patties, each about 3/4 in. thick. Grill burgers,  over medium-hot heat for 6-8 minutes on each side until 160 degree internal temperature. Serve on rolls with lettuce and tomato.

Portabello Mushroom Burger

  4 portobello mushroom caps
  1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  2 tablespoons olive oil
  1 teaspoon fresh oregano
  1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
  salt and pepper to taste
  4 thin slices of provolone cheese
  4 hamburger buns


  Place the mushroom caps in a bowl, whisk together vinegar, oil, basil, oregano, garlic, salt, and pepper. Coat the mushrooms. Then preheat grill for medium-high heat. Brush grate with oil. Place mushrooms on the grill, while reserving marinade for basting. Grill for 5 to 8 minutes on each side, or until tender. Brush with marinade frequently. Top with cheese during the last 2 minutes of grilling. Place in buns. Enjoy

Roast Pineapple and Jalapeno Pepper Chicken Burger


One can of  pineapple chunks
4 grilled chicken breast halves or pounded chicken breasts
1 onion chopped finely 
2 Jalapeno Peppers, seared over a hot flame
1 tablespoon lime juice
3 tablespoon white balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
Water as needed
4 whole wheat hamburger buns

Chop jalapeno peppers. Add a little oil to a pan and saute the onion, and peppers and cook for five minutes. Add the garlic powder and cook for a minute. Add the pineapple and about 1/2 cup of water. Simmer for 10 minutes to allow the water to begin to evaporate. Stir often. You may need a little more water to keep it from getting too thick. Add the vinegar, and lime and simmer until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a blender and pulse a couple of times. You want this to be rough without being chunky. Salt to taste. Use About 1 cup of mixture  on each grilled chicken breast burger and enjoy.

Herb Turkey Burgers


1 pound of lean ground turkey   
2  tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon of onion powder
1 teaspoon of celery seed
2 egg whites
1 1/2 tablespoons of chopped fresh thyme
1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoons freshly ground pepper
5-6 whole wheat buns or rolls



  Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Saute onions with olive oil and cook until transperant. Add celery seed, thyme, salt and pepper. Put the mixture into a bowl. Let cool for 5 minutes. Add turkey and egg whites, stir until combined; gently form 6 patties. Oil the grill rack and grill the burgers for 5 to 6 minutes per side, flipping once. Serve warm after you have allowed to let rest.

Grilled Spinach And Munster Turkey Burgers

  1 pound of ground turkey
1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  4slices of Munster cheese
1/2 cup finely grated carrot
  1eggs whites
1/2 small package of unthawed frozen chopped spinach
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder 
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon of salt
  4 whole wheat hamburger buns


In a large bowl using clean hands mix all ingredients together until they are all combined. Gently shape into 8 patties. Place the patties into a container. Cover and refrigerate for a few hours. Grill burgers over medium-high heat for about 6-8 minutes on each side until they reach 165 degrees internal temperature. Let rest for ten minutes, place the patties into buns, then enjoy.

Mexican Grilled Chicken Burger


12 ounces chicken breasts, skinless and boneless, pounded thin
½ finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons of minced garlic
1/4 cup of lemon juice
1/4 cup of orange juice
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon of cilantro
4 tablespoon mayonnaise
4 teaspoon mustard
Tomato slices
1 ripe avocado sliced
Onion slices
Lettuce leaves
4 sesame seed whole wheat hamburger buns

 Mix the orange juice, lemon juice, oil, garlic, chopped onion and cilantro in the container. Place the chicken breasts in a container and marinate both sides for 30 minutes. Grill the chicken for 8 minutes on a grill. Turn once and cook for another 8 minutes. Remove, then sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Place the 4 chicken pieces on 4 bottom hamburger buns. Add the rest of the ingredients to bun and enjoy.

Jalapeno and Pineapple Grilled Burger

One can of pineapple slices
1 pound of beef
1/2 teaspoon of onion powder 
3  jalapeno Peppers
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 teaspoon of minced garlic
6 buns
mayonaise
tomatoe slices
lettuce
5-6 whole wheat hamburger buns

  Peel and chop the onion. Dice the jalapeno pepper, remove seeds if wanted. You can also put them in a food processor. Add the garlic and lime juice to the onion and jalapeno pepper mix. Then mix sauce with the pound of beef and form into  6  patties. Grill burgers and serve with a slice of pineapple, tomatoe slice and piece of lettuce. Spread mayonaise on toasted buns. Serve warm and enjoy.

Mexican burger
 
  1 1/4 pound of lean beef
  1/2 teaspoon salt
  1  teaspoon of onion powder

  1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

  2 tablespoon of your favorite bottled salsa
  3 Avocados
  6 whole wheat buns



  Combine onion powder, salsa, salt, and chili powder. Gently mix the seasonings with ground beef then gently shape into 4 patties, each 3/4-inch thick. Pre heat grill for medium high heat. Grill patties and cook about 8 minutes per side for medium or until done. Serve with salsa dressing and avocado slices on a toasted bun.

Low Fat Black Bean Burger

  1 pound of lean ground beef
  1/2 cup of cooked black beans
  1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  1/2 tsp of pepper
  1 teaspoon of onion powder
  1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
  4-5 whole wheat hamburger buns

Pre-heat  grill for medium high heat. Mix ground beef and black beans together gently mix and form into 4-5 patties. Spray the grill pan with nonstick cooking spray. Season the patties with kosher salt on both sides. Grill burgers for 6 to 8 minutes on each side until done. Remove burgers from heat and allow to rest at least five minutes before putting into burger buns. Enjoy

Asian Turkey Burgers



  1 1/2 pounds of lean turkey
  1/4 cup of non fat yogurt or milk substitute
  2 Tbsp minced green onion
  1 tsp soy sauce
  1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  1 tsp Asian hot sauce
4-5 whole wheat hamburger buns
 

Combine the turkey and the next 6 ingredients till well mixed. Gently form into 6 patties. Grill turkey burgers over med-high heat 6-8 minutes per side until done. During the last minute of grilling, toast rolls. Place the patties on buns after you have allowed to rest and enjoy.
